I have helped many first-home buyers into their first homes during my time as a real estate agent. It is such an exciting step to take and I make sure that it is as stress-free and smooth as possible.
A few tips I can give first-home buyers or those who haven’t purchased a property in a while and are wanting to buy are:
Seek advice from a mortgage or financial adviser (There is no cost for this)
Check if you can use your Kiwisaver as a deposit
Get in touch with a real estate agent to help with the buying process
Not all listings go online and agents are well-connected. This could lead you to a property that you never knew existed and could save you from settling for a home purely because you have limited options. I personally also sit with buyers and talk them through the entire buying process. This makes everything a lot more easier for buyers as they know exactly what to expect at every step.
